Business Plan

The goal of the DMA Agencies Council is to ensure that DMA Agency members enjoy substantially greater commercial success and a clear and sustainable commercial advantage over non-members as a direct result of their membership.
The Agencies Council will achieve this by:
  • Promoting direct marketing as the most effective and accountable of all marketing communications disciplines


  • Encouraging clients who already use direct marketing to devote more of their budgets to DM


  • Putting the case for DM amongst non-DM using clients who would benefit from including DM in their marketing mix


  • Using the DM Code of Practice to demonstrate the benefits of using DMA Agency members, who are bound fully by the Code, over non-members and the commercial risks to practitioners who use suppliers who do not subscribe to the Code


  • Ensuring that DMA Agency members' staff are the best informed and most professional practitioners through access to industry leading training and development


  • Providing valuable market insight and trend data which is available exclusively to DMA Agency members


  • Encouraging best practice amongst client companies in their dealings with DMA Agency members, including: pitching, negotiating, IP and commercial terms.


  • Establishing preferential commercial terms for members.
