Business Plan

2009 looks to be a challenging year for all industries – including direct marketing. As the recession intensifies, it is important that the DMA is visible and proactive in helping its members through the difficult times ahead.
While the core values and key objectives of DMA West remain largely unchanged, the overall strategy is focussed, yet flexible enough to respond to the current volatile nature of the global economy. For this reason, consultation with members to fully understand and respond to their requirements is constantly taking place and will continue into the future. One of the outcomes is a request for more informal networking and business development opportunities. As a result, DMA West has developed strategic alliances with other trade bodies in the west region. These include Bristol Media, Spark South West, the CIM, IDM and CIPR.

DMA West is proud to be at the centre of this collaboration of media industry bodies in the south west. The region has an enviable reputation as a centre of creative excellence, with a wealth of talent producing some truly outstanding work. The showcasing and networking opportunities which this initiative has created are of great value and importance - especially in current trading conditions. This strategy is helping to bring together an increasingly diverse industry at a regional level. This is not only beneficial to the local economy - it will also help to ensure the organisations which make such a huge contribution to it remain competitive now and in the future.
